Game #1: Knights vs. Galaxy

The Knights took on Galaxy tonight in their first game of the season. With fifteen returning players, the Knights go out with a bang! Within the first few minutes, Kimmy Westmoreland assists a ball from the corner of the field, and freshman Shannon Schaefer heads it in for a goal. Samantha Major then assists a goal, scored again by Shannon. The Knights played extremely well together for their first game, stringing together passes throughout the game, switching the ball, and being active instead of reactive. Ashley Taylor, the Knight's goal keeper, played extremely well, and saved a 1 v 1 by coming out of the box and blocking the kick. Kimmy Westmoreland scored a goal that was passed by Erika Schaefer. Lauren Howard assisted two goals, one of which was crossed from the corner which Shannon Shaefer headed it in for a hat trick. McKenzie Cloak scored the last goal assisted by Lauren, ending the first half 5-0. Unfortunately, Galaxy scored a goal in the second half due to a misunderstanding of both teams. The ending score of the game was 6-1, and the Knights lead off the new season undefeated!
