To be on the team: you are required to attend one practice a week. Practices are held Monday and Wednesday 4p-6p, and sometimes there is a Sunday option depending on scheduling. If you cannot attend any practice you will not be permitted to play. You are required to be available for league matches every Tuesday, between 6:30pm and 10:00pm (warm up begins at 7:15 pm, kickoff is at 8pm). If you cannot attend the games you will not make the 22 man roster, but rather serve as an alternate for travel games.
****You must also remain enrolled at least part time (6 hours) throughout the semester in order to be a member of the team.
****Remember this is a physical contact sport, and while you are not required to have medical health insurance you must be aware that injuries may occur. Therefore students who participate in the sport are responsible for any medical costs associated with playing, and are encouraged to have health insurance during their participation on Women’s Club Soccer Team.
To reiterate, this team is COMPETITIVE. High level youth club or varsity soccer experience is similar to the commitment needed to play. A 3-5 day commitment to the team is expected every week. Players are expected to be in shape at try outs, fitness is the responsibility of the individual. 22 women will make the CFSL roster, an additional 3-5 (possibly more or less at the officers' discretion) players will be chosen as alternates. The alternates will fill in roster spots as they become available (sometimes as early as the second week of matches). Practice players are permitted if room on the roster or alternate spot is not available. This means they can come to any practice but there may not be positions available for games. Often practice players can fill in as the season winds down, so commitment is rewarded. All players are required to pay the $60.00 dues by Tuesday September 8th. There will be penalties applies for those who have paid dues late, pending circumstances. Certain expenses are covered by the team, while others will be the responsibility of the player. Details are discussed once a roster is formed.
Remember, no CLUB soccer player can play in INTRAMURAL soccer. There are serious penalties if any club player plays IMs. If you feel intramural soccer is important to you, you may want to evaluate if you are sure you want to try out for the club team. Many leadership positions for the executive board for the club are available this Fall. If you are interested in being a leader, let me know, and also do not be afraid to show your leadership potential on the field at try outs.
Tournament Updates Will Be Avaliable Soon!
The final roster will be released Thursday September 3rd; players will be notified through email.
